Frequently asked questions

How does billing work if I have more than one shop?

Plans are chosen once per account (company). Shop is $50 per shop per month and Empire is $99 per shop per month — so 3 shops on Shop is $150/mo, and 3 shops on Empire is $297/mo. Solo stays a flat $20/mo for independent barbers.

Are there really zero booking fees?

Clients never pay a booking fee. Ordinary bookings carry no Haircut commission. Optional Open Chair AI is available on every plan: shops pay 5% of the discounted service price only on tracked, completed paid services, excluding tips. Fees and refund credits appear on your subscription bill.

Can I switch plans later?

Absolutely. Upgrade or downgrade anytime from the Commander dashboard. Changes take effect on your next billing cycle.

Is there a contract or commitment?

No contracts. No setup fees. Cancel anytime, effective at the end of your billing period.

How do payouts work?

Card charges settle on Haircut’s platform first. Your shop runs payouts from Commander (or on a schedule); we transfer the barber and shop shares via Stripe Connect. Chair rent is withheld from barber transfers when applicable. Bank arrival time follows Stripe’s payout schedule for each connected account.

What payment processing fees apply?

Standard Stripe card processing rates apply. Ordinary bookings have no Haircut commission. Optional Open Chair AI adds a 5% fee on tracked, completed paid services, excluding tips, billed with the shop subscription.

Your next appointment could be a client who already knows you. Open Chair AI finds clients due for a haircut and sends a push invitation to book with your chair or your whole shop.

Know who’s due

Uses completed-visit frequency, with a 28-day starting point for clients with one visit. Skips clients who already have an upcoming appointment.

Respect every client

Only their most recently visited shop can invite them. Shared protection across shops and barbers limits Open Chair notifications to once every seven days.

Pay when they return

Haircut earns 5% of the discounted service price only when the client follows the invitation, books before it expires in seven days, and completes a paid service. Tips are excluded; refunds earn fee credits.

Available on web, iOS, and Android with subscription billing set up. Open Chair fees are billed to the shop’s subscription. Ordinary bookings remain commission-free.
